Does anyone know how I might affect the number of rings before voicemail picks up on a Mitel 5224 (or the MAS)?I know I'm able to enable/disable voicemail from the web-admin, but I have no idea how to change the number of rings before it picks up.In this case in our control room they have no voicemail configured (turned off by design), but now it seems to send it to an unconfigured voicemail box after only 2 rings. Text to speech vbs. It should be 4 to 6 (and I'm told it used to be). Now if they happen to be busy for a couple of rings, it gets sent to voicemail, which isn't configured. In this case.
I would say 'probably yes'. It's a complicated scenario for our security control room and is non-standard relative to the end user lines I deploy. In theory (and apparently the way it has always worked, pre-flood) is that if they did not answer the land line in the control room in 4 rings, it would call forward to a cell phone, because security was doing rounds. Now, after 2 rings, it just goes to a non-configured voicemail box. I'm stumped.I'll try your link above sir. Kelly Armitage wrote:In this case. I would say 'probably yes'.

Thank you.I don't claim to be an expert but I played around with and installed two intertel 3000's and I always found their support (back when it was intertel, pre mitel merger) to be good. If you dig deep enough on their site they have manuals and guides for just about everything. Well, the number of rings should be under the Class of Service for the extension affected, or at least that's a logical place for it. I have never looked for it under our system.

Looking through my system, it looks like it could be under Class of Service Options Assignment, assuming that you have a separate CoS for this device. As for getting routed to Voice Mail, my guess is that somehow the Call Routing - 1st Alt. Got changed on the Call Rerouting Assignment screen. This is also all assuming that your version of the software is similar to what I'm running in my 3300ICP.However, I do hope it might be helpful a little bit. What you say makes lots of sense and sounds exactly like the screens I see when dealing with phones. However, CoS and CoR are things I normally do configure, but as far as I know that is more related to long distance calling etc. Are they allowed or not.
I am not sure they have any affect on the number of rings before voicemail kicks in. (you may be right, I just don't know where to look/change that).
Also, I do configure normal users voicemail for them, and am familiar with Call Routing, but in this case it doesn't apply (at least that I'm aware of) because there is no voicemail associated with this line. That same page though, did lead me, indirectly to the answer. Along with help from a co-worker who works remotely every Saturday, and uses twinning of her land line to her cell phone.I created a ticket as a reminder. This happens once every 6 months and no one knows half the information (twinning pass code was another sticking point I was able to look up from the web admin.
Here were my steps (nothing earth shattering. The problem in this case was not with the land line (4115) or the MAS, or even Teleworker itself, but with the cell phone.2.

Twinning does NOT work if the cell phone is turned off, or loses all battery power. It MUST be charged and on in order for twinning to work. If it happens to lose power or be turned off, the setup process should not need to be re-done, the cell should just need to be turned back on.2.IF. we need to re-twin the two phones the steps are as follows:a: From the cell phone dial 403-514-6383b: Enter Desktop Extension (xxxx)c: Enter passcode. In this case it is XXXX, however if that ever changes it can be looked up at., under the 'twinning' tab.d: Press 1 to enable twinning (or 2 to disable it)e: Press.
to end the call. The original cause of this seems to be allowing the cell phone to run out of battery and thus shutting off. Hi Kelly, from what your saying it sounds like something has changed and that's where you should focus your efforts. If that phone was ringing vmail @ ring 6 before and now it's ringing vmail @ ring 2 something obviously changed. If you have an idea of when it happened you can always look in the audit logs if you have them enabled to see what changed. The COS 'Call Forward - No Answer Timer' determines the length of time a call will ring a station before it is forwarded to the next programmed destination. The timer is reset each time the call is forwarded.
