Ck2 Become King Ambition
Originally posted by:How do I get it by marriage or intrigue? You can't get a title by marriage within one generation, but you can marry the ruler and make sure the children are your dynasty, and inherit both kingdoms as your own child. You can get the throne by intrigue only if you are already a (distant) heir to the throne, and just murder your way up to being next in line, then murder the reigning monarch. The normal way to gain the kingdom is to just conquer it piece by piece until you have 51% when there is nobody who currently holds the kingdom title, or it is not their primary title. If someone holds the kingdom title already, and it is their primary title, then you must conquer all the land they hold within that de jure kingdom. The use of the 'Become King' ambition when you aren't a pagan is merely to get a bit of extra presitge if you are a grand duke and are ready to become the king, anyway. If you are a pagan, the main use is to get access to unlimited use of the Subjugation CB, which makes becoming a king only a matter of being able to actually win the wars. You can use the Subjugation CB once before declaring the ambition (which can be used to subjugate land outside the kingdom you are going to target, or even gain land that lets you declare an ambition to become king of another kingdom than the one you are currently in) and since it's such a powerful CB, it's worth using as much as you can get away with. Well, let's see.If you want to become king of X, you need to become king of X. So you need the 51% of the de jure counties as your vassals or in your demesne, and then create the kingdom/usurp the kingdom (if there is another king of your religion). Also, sometimes, you can try with a faction and then a war to be king, but it's only in a few cases.I think you don't know what is a 'de jure' something. 'De jure' is the territory that is supposed to be included under the next one.Better explained: A 'de jure' duchy has, between 2 and 6 (I think there's no one with more) counties.
So, if you are the duke of that duchy, it is supposed you have the right to have those counties in your demesne/as vassals. Then, a 'de jure' king has the right to some number of duchies (and, obviously, the counties), and an emperor has some 'de jure' kingdoms. So, to take a duchy, you need the 51% of the 'de jure' of the duchy. To become king, you need two duchy titles (not necessary in that kingdom!) and the 51% of the 'de jure' counties in the kingdom.

Steam workshop download not working. To become emperor, you need two kingdom titles (not necessary in that empire) and the 80% of the 'de jure' counties in the empire. Sometimes, you need special conditions for kingdoms and empires (have some special culture, for example) but then you can't have it as ambition. And, I think that's all.Oh, yes. Are you really married with a granny?
What do you expect of her?She won't help you in nothing. She can't have children, and you won't get the crown never, because you don't have a claim (the only thing would be HER claim, if she has, but then she will become Queen but you won't become King, only. How it is called? Consort?, and when she dies, another one will inherit the crown, not you or your descendants (unless your descendants are her descendants, too.
Then, your descendants will inherit the kingdom).Don't try to assimilate everything at once. Yeah, but if you do that, then the ambition is useless. An ambition to become king of only is successful if that character becomes king of that kingdom. Letting their child inherit it is pointless.
(And you can't cancel the ambition, so you basically throw away all that character's ambitions permanently.) Of course, if your current character's child inherits your throne, and hasn't inherited the throne of the target kingdom by the time you start playing, and are in line to the throne, you can set the ambition, and wait for dad/mom to die (or help them along) and get the ambition fulfilled that way.
